Special Lapel Pinning Ceremony Honors Vietnam Vets In Peoria
The Humana Community Center in the Westlake Shopping Center in Peoria is hosting a pinning ceremony for Vietnam-era veterans on Nov. 4.

PEORIA, IL — Vietnam veterans and their families are invited to a commemoration ceremony in advance of Veterans Day at the Humana Community Center in Peoria. The ceremony starts at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4 and goes until 1:30 p.m.
All who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War period from Nov. 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975, regardless of duty location, are invited to attend and receive a special lapel pin as a lasting memento of the nation's gratitude.
The congressionally-authorized Vietnam War Commemoration initiative was established by the U.S. Department of Defense to thank and honor Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice. The ceremony is open to all area Vietnam-era vets.

The Humana community center is located in the Westlake Shopping Center in Peoria, 2601 West Lake Ave. (Interstate 74 and Sterling Avenue - 2601 West Lake Avenue, next door to the UPS Store and behind Five Guys).
Humana, which provides health benefits to 6 million U.S. service men and women and dependents, is an approved Commemorative Partner. Local Vietnam veterans and/or their families interested in participating in the Peoria ceremony are asked to RSVP to Humana at 309-691-1677.
