PEORIA – March 13, 2020 – Construction will resume on North University Street from Pioneer Parkway to Townline Road beginning the week of Monday, March 16, weather permitting. Motorists should expect intermittent daytime lane shifts, however, there will be limited traffic disruption during the final project phase.
The project includes a complete reconstruction and modernization of the roadway with added sidewalk, a multiuse path, upgraded lighting and stormwater solutions. While the majority of the project was completed in 2019, remaining work on the sidewalk, bike path, lighting improvements, landscaping and final striping will unfold this spring and is slated to wrap up come early summer.
