143rd Street Corridor Workshop Planned For Plainfield Residents
Route 126, now overlapping with Main Street, is being rerouted to 143rd Street, and village officials want residents' vision for the area.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield officials will host a community visioning workshop Aug. 30 to learn about residents' vision for the 143rd Street corridor.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Aug. 30 at Village Hall, 24401 W. Lockport St. Attendees will have the chance to identify and map priorities, issues and opportunities for the area.
Route 126, which currently overlaps with Main Street, is in the process of being rerouted to 143rd Street. The change — which has been in talks "for years," Mayor John Argoudelis told Patch — will allow Main Street to revert to being a residential street and keep traffic on the north side of Plainfield.
