20th Anniversary For Plainfield Harvest 5K

Registration is open for the 2018 Healthy Driven Plainfield Harvest 5k Run/Walk & Kidz Miler.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Online registration for the 2018 Healthy Driven Plainfield Harvest 5k Run/Walk & Kidz Miler is open, and the race will return to the Village Green, 24121 W. Chicago St., on Sunday, Sept. 30. The annual event steps off at Des Plaines and Chicago streets and is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

The 5K run/walk starts at 9 a.m., immediately after the 8:30 a.m. Kids Race.

Registration can be done online until 7 p.m. Sept. 27.

5K individual prices are as follows:

  • $35 through 6:59 p.m. Sept. 27
  • $40 from 7 p.m. Sept. 27 through the start of the race

5K corporate team entry is $32 through 7 p.m. Sept. 27, which is deadline to register corporate teams.

Kids race registration prices are:

  • $15 through 6:59 p.m. Sept. 27
  • $18 from 7 p.m. Sept. 27 through the start of the race

Registrations by the 7 p.m. Sept. 27 deadline are eligible for advance packet pickup. In-person registration is only available at advance packet pickup or on the race day. Race day registration and packet pick up will be from 6:45 a.m. m to 7:45 a.m. at the Village Green.

All pre-registered runners will receive a T-shirt and a goody bag. When registering, runners should indicate the registrant's T-shirt size. All race day entries will receive a T-shirt and goody bag while supplies last.

5K and kids race early packet pick-up is available from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Edward Plainfield Campus, 24600 W 127th St.

For the 5K, the top three male and female finishers in these age categories will be recognized: 14 & under, 15 - 19, 20 - 24, 25 - 29, 30 - 34, 35 - 39, 40 - 44, 45 - 49, 50 - 54, 55 - 59, 60 - 64, 65 - 69, 70 - 74, 75 - 79, 80 and over. Overall winners (both male and female) get $100 for first place, $50 for second and $25 for third.

For the Kids race, the top three male and female finishers at each of these ages will be recognized: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

Parking for the Harvest 5K will be available at Plainfield High School - Central Campus on Fort Beggs Drive.

A post-race party will take place at Tap House Grill, including food, entertainment and prizes.
