3-5 More Inches Of Snow Possible: Chicago Winter Weather
As the area digs out from a snowstorm that hit Thursday and Friday, more of the white stuff could be on its way.

As Illinois digs out from snowstorms on Thursday and Friday that dumped more than a foot of snow on some areas — Homer Glen has the most with an estimated 14 inches of snow — the National Weather Service is predicting more winter weather.
Snow is expected to begin after midnight, bringing another 3-5 inches of accumulation in some areas and 1-3 inches in others. Sunday will also see another dusting of snow, according to the forecast, with less than an inch of accumulation in most areas before noon.

Expect a high of around 25 for most of the day Sunday. Monday's forecast calls for sunshine with a high around 25.
This week marked the return of true winter weather after a fairly mild season so far. Up until Feb. 2, the Chicago area had around 10 inches of snowfall, compared with the average of 21 inches, according to WGN. As of Feb. 9, the area snowfall average jumped to 23.8 inches, slightly above the seasonal average.

Weekday weather
The early part of the week will be mostly dry with a slight chance of rain Wednesday night and a chance of rain and snow on Thursday, but a slight warmup with a high of 38 degrees.
Current forecasts call for another slight chance of snow on Friday.
