3-Week Labor Day Traffic Enforcement Coming Up In Plainfield

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police will join more than 200 law enforcement agencies across the state for a three-week traffic enforcement campaign encompassing Labor Day, officials said Tuesday.

From Aug. 14 through the early morning hours of Sept. 8, police will be out in force enforcing seat belt usage and reducing other dangerous driving behaviors.

The campaign uses the slogan "Click It or Ticket."

"Buckling up is the most effective way to prevent serious injury or death in a crash," police wrote in a news release. "Everyone in a vehicle — front seat or back — should be properly buckled, every trip."

The campaign is paid for by federal safety highway funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
