3rd Annual American Legion Holiday Donation Drive

October Donation Drive to Collect Items for Operation Care Package

The Plainfield American Legion Family, Marne Post 13, will host our 3rd annual donation drive in October to benefit Operation Care Package (OCP). During the year, OCP mails 150-200 care packages a week. This 2018 holiday season, OCP will mail thousands of care packages to our deployed service members. This year, the American Legion has expanded our collection drive by partnering with the Plainfield Village Hall and the Plainfield Public Library as additional donation sites. We will collect donations from October 1st through October 31st during posted business hours. The short list of recommended donations is: personal sized toiletries, black crew socks, packaged meat products, hard candy, hand/foot warmers, nuts/chips, small canned goods, individual hot cocoa/soups/cereals/oatmeal & small gift items. A complete list will be at each donation site and on the OCP website at www.operationcarepackages.org. Monetary donations for postage may be made out to Operation Care Package and mailed directly to OCP or dropped off at he American Legion Post on Renwick and River Road. For more information about the history and mission of OCP, a 403Cb organization, please visit their website. For questions about the donation drive, please call the American Legion, 815-436-9231 or email amleg.13@att.net.
