5.6-Acre Park In The Ponds Subdivision To Undergo Renovations
Several upgrades, including new equipment and outdoor furniture, are planned for the park.
PLAINFIELD, IL — A 5.6-acre park in Plainfield's The Ponds subdivision will be renovated starting in August, Plainfield Park District officials announced.
Several upgrades are on the docket for The Ponds, located at 13021 Denise St. They include the following:
- Updated play equipment
- Resurfaced half basketball court, plus new goal and net
- New modern shelter
- New site furniture
- Fence repairs
- Landscape additions
- Partial sidewalk replacements and new Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramps.
The park district evaluated many playground surveys it received from residents, who provided "valuable feedback" on the project, officials said. Based on responses, the rendering, shown below, was chosen as the design for the new park.
