Abrell's Contract On Agenda For Special District 202 Meeting

Administrator retirement contracts are also on the June 3 agenda.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 on Friday announced a special board of education meeting, set for 5 p.m. Sunday, at the administration center, 15732 Howard St. The agenda includes a closed session to discuss personnel.

According to agenda, the board will vote on the approval of a performance-based contract for Superintendent Lane Abrell and approval/ratification of administrator retirement contracts.

Abrell currently has a contract approved in 2017, extending through the 2019-20 school year. That contract gave him a 2.5 percent salary increase for the 2017-18 school year; another 3 percent raise in 2018-19; another 4 percent in 2019-20.

The next District 202 regular board meeting is scheduled for June 11.

Abrell, the former Plainfield High School principal, was hired as associate superintendent for the 2013-14 school year, serving as part of a transition phase alongside then-Superintendent John Harper. He left the district in 2006, returning to take on the role in 2013.

According to a contract extension approved by the board in 2017, Abrell's salary for this school year was to be $220,778.
