"Aggie's Circle" street signs unveiled on Edward Plainfield campus

Paul J. Miller named the internal road that rings the Edward Plainfield campus "Aggie's Circle" in honor of his wife, Agnes.

The internal road that rings the Edward Plainfield campus, 127th St. and Van Dyke Rd., has an official name – “Aggie’s Circle.” With more than 30 family members and friends in attendance, Paul J. Miller, who previously owned the property, unveiled two street signs that honor his wife, Agnes, in a ceremony on Thursday, April 30 on the site where Edward Hospital has offered comprehensive healthcare services since 2006.

The blue and white “Aggie’s Circle” street signs are located in front of the main entrance to the Edward Plainfield Outpatient Center/Edward Plainfield 24/7 ER and on the east side of the campus near the entrance off of Van Dyke Rd.

Paul, 90, and Agnes, 87, residents of Oswego, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary in September. Miller, who served as a Marine in WWII, sold most and donated a portion of the 60-acre tract to Edward in 2004. Prior to the sale, he grew corn and soybeans on the land for about 30 years.

“This is not only a street sign unveiling, but a celebration and a thank you,” said Bill Kottmann, System Vice President, Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare. “We’re celebrating nine years of providing care to the residents of Plainfield and Will County, and we’re saying thanks to Paul and Agnes Miller who made it possible for us to purchase the property for the Edward Plainfield campus.”

“The Village is pleased that the Millers and Edward worked together back in 2004. Their partnership helped lay the foundation for accessible, high-quality healthcare in Plainfield. The Edward campus is truly one of the jewels of Plainfield,” said Michael Collins, Plainfield Mayor.
