Albin O. Hoffman, age 96, a resident of Joliet, IL since 2018, former longtime resident of Chicago, IL, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital, Joliet, IL. He was born on November 23, 1929, in Vainutas, Lithuania.

Beloved husband of 76 years to Helen M. Hoffman (née Lepies), whom he married on January 1, 1950, loving father of Brigitte (the late Leonard) Zydzik of Plainfield, Alfred Hoffman of Fox Lake, IL and John Hoffman of Chicago, adored grandfather of Renee Keeling, Lynette (Chris Vitkauskas) Zydzik, Christopher (Daniella) Zydzik and Brian (Brenda) Zydzik; Noelle Hoffman, Allie Hoffman and Carly (Christopher) Hansen cherished great-grandfather of Elly and Mackenzie; Dylan, Madeline and Reese; Sienna and Everly; Leyla, Lillian and Astrid, devoted son of the late Andrius and Martha (née Schneidereit) Hoffman, dear brother of Ruth (the late Romie) Palmer and the late John Hoffman, fond cousin, uncle, great-uncle, great-great uncle and friend of many.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, 9:00-11:00 AM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home, 15219 Joliet Rd. (Corner of Rt. 30 and Rt. 59), Plainfield, IL 60544.

A celebration of Albin’s life will follow Saturday, 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Valdas Ausra officiating.

Family and friends will meet Saturday, 1:00 PM at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery, 4401 W. 111th St., Chicago, IL 60655, (773) 239-4422, for chapel services.
