Helen M. Hoffman (née Lepies), age 100, a resident of Joliet, IL since 2018, former longtime resident of Chicago, IL, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at her home. She was born on September 19, 1925, in Lithuania.
Beloved wife of 76 years to the late Albin O. Hoffman, whom she married on January 1, 1950 and who preceded her in death on March 9, 2026, loving mother of Brigitte (the late Leonard) Zydzik of Plainfield, Alfred Hoffman of Fox Lake, IL and John Hoffman of Chicago, adored grandmother of Renee Keeling, Lynette (Chris Vitkauskas) Zydzik, Christopher (Daniella) Zydzik and Brian (Brenda) Zydzik; Noelle Hoffman, Allie (Amanda) Hoffman and Carly (Christopher) Hansen cherished great-grandmother of Elly and Mackenzie; Dylan, Madeline and Reese; Sienna and Everly; Leyla, Lillian and Astrid, devoted daughter of the late August and Anna (née Izerski) Lepies, dear sister of seven deceased siblings, fond sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, great-great aunt and friend of many.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, 4:00-7:00 PM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home, 15219 Joliet Rd. (Corner of Rt. 30 and Rt. 59), Plainfield, IL 60544.
Services will begin Saturday, 9:00 AM from the funeral home and will proceed to a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Avenue, Shorewood, IL 60404, (815) 725-6880.
Family and friends will meet Saturday, 12:30 PM at the office in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery, 4401 W. 111th St., Chicago, IL 60655, (773) 239-4422. Graveside services will follow.
