PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield will celebrate Memorial Day with its annual parade May 25.
The procession by the Plainfield American Legion Marne Post No. 13 is set to step off at 10:45 a.m. at Ira Jones Middle School. The parade will travel east on Ottawa Street to Settlers' Park, where a wreath-laying ceremony, rifle salute and band performances will commence at the memorial within the park.
Between 10:30-11 a.m., the following streets will be closed. Parking will also be restricted from 10-11 a.m.
Parade-goers will be able to find limited parking at Village Hall, along Village Center Drive, on Van Dyke Road south of Ottawa Street, and at Ira Jones Middle School. Accessible parking will be available in the Village Hall parking lot.
