1. Overdose-Reversing Drug Distribution Box Added In Plainfield (patch.com) — Plainfield residents now have 24/7 access to free Naloxone from a new red distribution box installed at the Plainfield Police Department on Coil Plus Drive. The Will County Health Department says expanding these boxes, along with supplies in schools and libraries, has helped cut opioid overdose deaths countywide, and stresses that the new generic version works the same as Narcan.

2. Plainfield Teen Faces Attempted Murder Charges After Driving Into Chicago Cops: CPD (patch.com) — A Plainfield 18-year-old is facing multiple attempted murder and weapons charges after Chicago police say he drove the wrong way down a street and into a group of officers dispersing a large gathering. The teen, who lives on Riviera Boulevard in Plainfield, allegedly injured five officers before crashing into a police vehicle, pole and fence, and is due in court for a detention hearing.

3. Potential school shooter in Illinois apprehended thanks to quick-thinking relative (mystateline.com) — A quick-acting relative in Plainfield restrained a juvenile allegedly headed to carry out a shooting at Grand Prairie Elementary in Joliet, prompting a rapid response from Will County deputies to a Plainfield Township home. Authorities say multiple weapons were recovered and the teen, identified as a Plainfield High School–Central Campus student, made suicidal and homicidal statements and is now under medical evaluation. The investigation continues and charges are possible.

4. Leasing Near Thompson Center On The Rise: The Chicago Deal Sheet (bisnow.com) — Plainfield residents will see major industrial growth as Trammell Crow Co. starts construction on a massive 788,000-square-foot warehouse at Plainfield Business Center, slated to open in late 2027. The project, following a fully leased first building, signals continued logistics and jobs expansion in the area tied to broader Chicago-region commercial real estate activity.
