Two dedicated turn lanes are going up on Lockport Street. One will be a right-turn lane from Wallin Drive onto Lockport Street, and the other will be a right-turn lane from Lockport Street into the new subdivision. Pavement widening along Lockport Street and pedestrian walkways at the intersection are also planned.

Staff said drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible as lane reductions and turning restrictions will be required from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The road work is expected to last tuntil the end of July.

The Village Board approved the Keller Farm housing project and annexed 152.9 acres of land for it in August 2025. The subdivision will have 322 single-family homes, 83 townhouses in 18 buildings, 9 acres of commercial area and two parks.

The land formerly housed Keller's Farmstand, which sold sweet corn, apples and a variety of other fresh fruits and vegetables. The owners of the Plainfield Farmstand, different from the owners of the overall Keller's Farmstand, decided "it was time to sell the land," Patch reported. After "many years" on the market, it officially sold in 2024, and the farmstand shuttered in June 2025.
