PLAINFIELD, IL — Hand and Stone Massage will open a location in Plainfield following a unanimous Village Board vote Monday night.
Hand and Stone Massage will take over the space at 13400 S. Route 59 that Massage Envy vacated when it moved locations.
Trustees green-lit the business by approving a special use permit for it. The business has 24 locations in Illinois, including in nearby Shorewood, Oswego and Naperville.
"They would still be subject to our background checks with our police department," Economic Development Director Jake Melrose said at the meeting.
The business will be one of 13 in the Berkshire Place shopping center anchored by Jewel-Osco. A UPS store, Riverview Veterinary Clinic and Great Wall of China are among neighbors.
The Plan Commission unanimously voted in favor of Hand and Stone store opening at its Oct. 20 meeting.
