Avery YMCA Aquatics Director Receives Stormy Webster Award

Julie Potocki, aquatics director of the C.W. Avery Family YMCA, received the Stormy Webster Award at the Y's annual Illinois Fall Staff Rally this October.

The annual award is given to the state's most outstanding aquatics director.

Potocki has served as the Avery YMCA's aquatics director since November 2005. She has used her position to help provide swim lessons to thousands of area residents each year.

Under her guidance, the Avery YMCA offers many water fitness classes, an expanded Masters Swim program and other family-friendly special events. Adaptive swim lessons for children with special needs are also offered.

Potocki lives with her husband and three daughters in Joliet.
