Bart Homes and Bart Construction & Remodeling, Plainfield based new home construction & remodeling companies has just opened a new Design/Sales Center on the corner of Route 30 and 143rd streets (14200 Route 30, Unit 110) right in front of the new Fox’s Pub, by Family Video. This Thursday, July 28th from 11:30 to 2:00pm you can stop by for the Ribbon Cutting. Lunch will be served.
Brian Bart, owner, has been in the construction industry “His whole life.” as he puts it. With pictures to prove it, he has followed around his father, Tom to jobsites since he was a kid. Eight years ago, he started full time with Tom Bart Construction building custom homes working from the ground up. He became General Manager up until the economy took a turn for the worst. Bart laid himself off and started down the remodeling path in 2008 doing anything and everything to pay the bills.
“This year, I am proud to be able to move out of my home office and pickup truck to this new Design Center/Sales Office for customers to come by and see what we can offer.” Bart said, “I am more proud to have not only created a job for myself in this tough economy, but also for another two full time and two part time employees, not to mention all the countless subcontractors that we keep busy every day. Three years ago I was swinging hammers full time, doing office work part time, then changing oil, doing brake jobs, and whatever else in my garage when I had spare time just to make ends meet.”
Over the next five years, he plans to hire another six to seven full time employees and keep things right here in Plainfield. “Everyone knows people are remodeling their homes, but there is still a new home construction market; you just need to stay positive, be creative and innovative with designs, and stay in-tune with new technologies, including Green and Energy Star programs.” He says. Bart has built two Energy Star rated homes, and one Green home over the past couple of years. He is an encyclopedia about Green and Energy Star construction.
Their new showroom has a scaled down “Bart Home” built inside, a façade that shows off their signature Craftsman style design. Smartly integrated within the demo house, inside and out, you can see a plethora of design ideas and house components to assist with selections for both new home construction & remodels. They are open from 9-5 Monday through Friday, and 12-5 Saturday and Sundays.
