Jersey Mike’s opened in Plainfield in February, 2011 and franchisee Mark Cross celebrated the grand opening with a fundraiser to support the local schools.  “For the first 5 days, we gave Free Subs away to all customers with a minimum $1 donation back to the schools!  We raised over $5000 for the participating schools as we had a line out the door from Wednesday lunch through Sunday night at closing!”  Cross said, “The foundation of every community begins with our children and their education; I am blessed to be in a position to support and give back to the Plainfield schools!” 

Since 1956 on the Jersey Shore’s Point Pleasant Beach, Jersey Mike’s Subs has been delivering fantastic sandwich experiences!  Earlier this month, Jersey Mike’s Plainfield celebrated their one year anniversary with a Plainfield Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting event.  The event was a tremendous success as many in attendance had never been to Jersey Mike’s before so they were thrilled with the taste and flavor of the authentic east coast subs that Jersey Mike’s is known worldwide for producing!

Mark Cross puts his heart and soul into every venture he pursues, whether it is as owner of five Jersey Mike’s Subs stores (Naperville, Aurora, Lisle, Plainfield & Wheaton) as a husband and father, or as varsity football coach at Naperville Central High School.  His drive and desire to win fuel his every move.  Having lost several loved ones to unforeseen tragedies, Mark recognizes that life is short and appreciates each day.  With a genuine sense of gratitude, Mark approaches every venture – personal and professional – with care and determination to make it the best.
