Annual Book Sale Starts August 23 at Plainfield Library

Find Great Bargains at Friends of the Library Event

The Friends of the Plainfield Library will hold their annual book sale at the Library, 15025 S. Illinois St., in downtown Plainfield, on August 23, 24 and 25. Come find the best bargains in both new and old books!

Sale days are Thursday, August 23 from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday, August 24 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, August 25 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

A special First Peek to the sale is available Wednesday, August 22 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Entry to the Frist Peek is available with a small donation at the door. The happy hour bag sale will be Saturday, August 25 from noon to 1 p.m. We provide the bag, and you fill it for $3.

Patrons using scanning devices will be charged $10, but the scanning fee will be refunded with $200 minimum in sales.

Donations of books, CDs, DVDs, Blue-ray and vinyl records will be accepted beginning Thursday, August 16, at 3 p.m. From August 17 through August 21, donations will be accepted every day the library is open, from 9 a.m. until 30 minutes prior to library closing. Please no VHS tapes, cassette tapes or magazines.

If you’d like to get a coupon for a free book, sign up for a four-hour shift sorting donations at the library August 17 through August 21. Email folppld2017@gmail.com by August 15 to sign up to help.
