Armed Robber Takes iPods, iPads from Plainfield Target: Report

He claimed he had a gun and then stuffed the items into a bag and left, police told a radio station.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A man claiming to be armed robbed a Route 59 Target in Plainfield of its iPods and iPads Sunday evening, police told a news radio station.

The man, described as black, around 40 years old, 250 pounds and standing between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches, entered the store at around 9 p.m. Sunday, Plainfield Police Sgt. Mike Fisher told WSPY News. The man asked a clerk to open a display case full of iPods and iPads. After the clerk unlocked it, the man claimed he had a gun and then put the items in a bag, put the bag in a cart and walked out of the store, threatening a manager on the way out, Fisher told the station. No injuries were reported.

Messages left with Fisher were not immediately returned.
