Best Ice Cream Place Near Plainfield: Readers Pick

PLAINFIELD, IL — We asked Plainfield Patch readers this week to give us their best ice cream place recommendations. And the results on your favorite spots are now in.

Of the answers readers submitted in our poll, which lasted from last Friday to this Friday, Plainfield's own Hazel Marie's, at 24030 W. Lockport St., was the clear front-runner, garnering more than half the votes.

"Their shop is adorable and the ice cream is delicious," one reader wrote in the poll.

Several other nearby ice cream shops locals favorite include Walt's Ice Cream in Joliet, Nabby's Oberweis and Culver's.

One reader who voted for Hazel Marie's as their favorite wrote they appreciate that the ice cream is "fresh made and right downtown," and another said they hope the shop's owner brings fundraisers back like it was done pre-pandemic.

"The small town feel, great service and owners who care about their customers," a reader wrote.
