Bob Budd, 80 of Plainfield, IL
A proud U.S. Navy Veteran who will be remembered with love by his family.
Bob Budd, age 80, a resident of Joliet and formerly of Plainfield, IL, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2026 at his home. He was born on May 9, 1945 in Cincinnati, OH.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Bonnie; his loving sons, Robert (Jen) and Greg Budd; his cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Jacob, Corey, Dylan and Brody; his dear siblings, Connie (David) Lane and Tom Budd, and sister-in-law, Karen Buschmiller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Julia Budd; his sisters, Rose Anne (the late Ron) Brown and Janet (the late Ronald) Hare, and sister-in-law, Lisa (John) Mauntel.

Bob was a proud graduate of Elder High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He honorably served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1972. After his military service, Bob dedicated 20 years to UPS, retiring as a district manager in 2002. Never one to fully retire, he later spent many enjoyable years working as a real estate broker with Coldwell Banker.
Bob had a love for gardening and took great pride in tending to his vegetable garden, happily sharing in the harvest of his hard work. He also gave generously of his time, volunteering for many years making popcorn at Lakewood Nursing and Rehab Center in Plainfield.

Bob will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and the quiet ways he cared for those around him. Most of all, he will be remembered with love by his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Bob’s life, memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17, 9:00-10:00 AM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Routes 30 & 59, Plainfield. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Parish, 600 Brookforest Ave., Shorewood. A private family interment will be at Risen Lord Cemetery, Oswego.
