Bolingbrook Teen Dies In I-55 Crash In Plainfield: ISP

Officials said the 18-year-old driver lost control of the car "for unknown reasons," veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

PLAINFIELD, IL — An 18-year-old man from Bolingbrook died after a single-car crash on I-55 in Plainfield Monday night, according to Illinois State Police.

The Will County Coroner's Office identified the teenager as Jordan M. Murillo.

State troopers responded to the southbound interstate near Renwick Road around 11:40 p.m. The preliminary investigation determined the car, a gray 2022 Hyundai Elantra, went off the right side of the road and crashed into a tree. The driver lost control of the car "for unknown reasons," officials said.

The coroner pronounced Murillo dead at the scene at 1:10 a.m. Tuesday, officials said.

Preliminary autopsy results show multiple injuries due to a "motor vehicle mishap," according to the Will County Coroner's Office, which said Tuesday that the final cause and manner of death will be determined pending police, autopsy and toxicology results.
