Boy On Skateboard Collides With Chevy Truck On Renwick Road: Cops
The skateboarder, 15, was riding between cars before he collided with a Chevy Silverado in the left turn lane at Route 30, police said.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A 15-year-old boy on a skateboard collided with a Chevy Silverado truck Thursday afternoon on Renwick Road. He was taken to a Joliet hospital before being airlifted to Oak Lawn's Christ Medical Center, according to police.
Plainfield police and the Plainfield Fire Protection District arrived at the intersection of Renwick Road and Route 30 around 4:27 p.m. The boy was lying in the roadway near the truck when they got there, officials said.
The preliminary investigation shows the Silverado was driving east on Renwick when the skateboarder rode between cars that were stopped at the intersection with Route 30, where police said the two collided in the left turn lane.

Before the boy was airlifted, firefighters took him to St. Joseph's Medical Center, according to police. As of Friday afternoon, he's still at Christ Medical Center, officials confirmed with Patch.

Westbound Renwick Road from Peerless Drive to Route 30 was closed for about two hours while officials, along with the Plainfield Emergency Management Agency, investigated the crash.
