Brian Michael Kocsis, age 74, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1975, formerly of Joliet, IL.

Brian was a 1969 graduate of Joliet Catholic High School and practiced law in the area from 1980-2022.

Brian Michael Kocsis, age 74, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1975, formerly of Joliet, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at his home. He was born on January 15, 1951, in Joliet.

Beloved husband of Deborah Ann “Deb” Kocsis (nee Goodson), loving father of Kristen (Patrick) McAvoy, Andrew (Katharine) Kocsis and Emily Kocsis, all of Naperville, adored grandfather of Parker and Macey McAvoy; Carter, Gunner, Mac and Beau Kocsis, devoted son of the late Michael and Lillian (nee Kosick) Kocsis, dear brother of Michele (nee Kocsis) (Bill) Loeffler of Gainesville, FL, son-in-law of the late Robert and Catherine (nee Graham) Goodson, brother-in-law of late Bruce Goodson, Diane (Steve) Fink, Mary (Ole) Birkelund, Mark (Karen) Goodson, Robert (Connie) Goodson, Barbara (Paul) Ott, James (Sue) Goodson, Jacqueline (Ralph) Pratt, David (Leslie) Goodson and Doug Goodson, fond cousin, uncle, great-uncle and friend of many.

Brian grew up in Joliet, attended St. John the Baptist Grade School and was a 1969 graduate of Joliet Catholic High School. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Illinois State University (ISU) in Normal, a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from The Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Brian practiced law from 1980-2022.

Over the years, Brian was active in his community and was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, Naperville Jaycees (Past President), The Exchange Club of Naperville, Naperville Chamber of Commerce, Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce (Past Board Member), and co-founder of the Bula Bula Bula Men’s Club.

Brian was passionate about music and played the acoustic and electric guitar. He was considered a musical mentor to friends and family alike. He participated in several bands throughout the years, most recently with the Jukebox Junkies. He also enjoyed playing golf, cheering for his favorite sports teams (especially the Chicago White Sox), coaching sports (including running Strictly Shooting), hiking, biking, and most of all, spending time with his children and grandchildren. Additionally, he was an avid gardener.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, 4:00-8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL 60540.

Family and friends will meet Friday, June 27, 10:30 AM to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 1215 Modaff Rd., Naperville, IL 60540.
