Bulk Items Can Be Disposed Of In Plainfield's Spring Cleaning In April
Also: Yard waste collection resumes with Plainfield residents' first refuse pickup in April.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Spring cleaning is underway for many in Plainfield, and to help, officials have scheduled a collection for residents.
The Village of Plainfield and Waste Management are sponsoring a spring cleanup for residents during the week of April 10. Locals can put household refuse; bulk items such as chairs, couches and mattresses wrapped in plastic; and white goods, including refrigerators, washers, dryers and water heaters at the curb by 6 a.m. on their regular pickup day.
Some items excluded from spring cleanup are electronics, hazardous waste, tires, construction and demolition materials, concrete, rocks, dirt, engines or large automotive parts and any oversized items that can't be placed in a compactor-type truck.

The excluded items can be disposed of using At Your Door Special Collection, which can be scheduled online or by calling 800-449-7587.
Yard waste collection also resumes with residents' first refuse pickup in April. Officials are reminding locals to make sure all items are packaged in yard waste bags, a Waste Management cart or tied in 4-foot bundles weighing 45 pounds or less.

Yard waste doesn't include mulch, sod, stumps, dirt, stones and landscape bricks or pavers.
The spring cleanup and At Your Door Special Collection programs are available to residents who use the village's refuse collection services with Waste Management.
