CAPE Honors Outstanding District 202 Parents, Faculty, Staff

PLAINFIELD, IL — District 202’s CAPE parent group recognized outstanding parents, community members, teachers and staff members for their dedication to students, their schools and community at the 42nd annual CAPE awards night on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Plainfield East High School.

CAPE is District 202’s committee for the Coordination of Administration and Parent groups for Educational efficiency. It serves as a “bridge” between district leadership and the parent groups for all 30 District 202 schools.

The group presented its 2018 CAPE Community Award to Central Elementary School Principal Linda DiLeo.

CAPE President Betsey Vinson praised DiLeo for her dedication and commitment to District 202.

DiLeo attended Central Elementary School from second grade on, then Indian Trail Middle School and graduated from (then) Plainfield High School.

She has worked in District 202 since 1985, showing tremendous dedication to the schools, families and children and staff that she has served and worked with. “She is truly an amazing, valued, respected, loved and admired member of District 202,” Vinson said.

DiLeo started teaching at Crystal Lawns Elementary in the spring of 1985, then moved to Walker’s Grove Elementary in 1992 and stayed for seven years as well. She became Central Elementary School assistant principal in 1999 and then principal in 2001.
