Cardboard Boat Regatta Returns To Plainfield
Teams will create a sea-worthy craft using just cardboard and duct tape.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Find out if you are up to the challenge of building a boat out of just cardboard and duct tape then test your vessel’s sea worthiness by taking it out on the waters of the Ottawa Street Pool. The Plainfield Park District Cardboard Boat Regatta is set to ship out from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Ottawa Street Pool, 23820 W. Ottawa St.
The details:
- Your boat should be capable of holding 1-2 people
- Boats will be launched and paddled across the Ottawa St. swimming pool
- Cardboard and 2 rolls of duct tape is allowed per team
- For ages 10 & up w/responsible adult
- Cost: R/NR $5 per team Min. 4 teams/Max. 25 teams
