Celebrate Week of the Young Child with the Plainfield Park District April 24-28!

Residents of all ages are invited to attend FREE community events!

The Plainfield Park District is honoring young children the week of April 24 by celebrating the Week of the Young Child. Residents of all ages are invited to attend FREE community events!

Music Monday: Monday, April 24 from 1-2:30p at the Heritage Professional Center, 24023 W. Lockport St. We will sing, have a dance demo, and make a musical instrument.

Healthy Eating and Fitness: Tuesday, April 25 from 2-3:30p at Stream Recreation Center, 15014 S. DesPlaines St., Plainfield. We will practice a little yoga with a kid’s yoga demonstration, then learn about healthy snacks and also make one of our own.

Work Together Wednesday: Wednesday, April 26 from 1-2:30p at Clow Stephens Park, 16650 S. Lily Cache Rd. Let’s make Clow Stephens beautiful by working together to keep it clean. See how we make picking up trash fun! Trash bags will be provided; you may want to bring gloves. We will have a special treat when we are all done.

Artsy Thursday: Thursday, April 27 from 1:30-3p at the Heritage Professional Center. Learn to make art with lots of different things. We will get creative while we are having fun.

Family Fun Friday: Friday, April 28 from 6:30-8p at the Plainfield Township Community Center,

15014 S. DesPlaines Street, Plainfield. An evening of family fun with inflatables, games and snacks At 7:15p - “Fur and Feathers” presentation by Cosley Zoo – learn about animal body coverings with a close-up live animals encounter.

The Week of the Young Child™ is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers and families. Please join us for a week of fun events FREE! Supplies are limited.
