Plainfield Ph.D. candidate founder of lab focused on mitigating earthquake hazard in Kathmandu

Rachael Lau, of Plainfield, is the founder of the Kathmandu Geo Lab, a cross-disciplinary partnership between Duke University and Tribhuvan University focused on understanding and mitigating earthquake hazard in Kathmandu. She is a 2022 Fulbright Fellow in Nepal and works with the National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal on deep-seated landslide mitigation and education to make disaster education accessible.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in 2020 and her master’s in 2022. She will graduate with her doctoral degree in 2024.

Plainfield North grad studying aviation makes dean’s list at University of Dubuque

Dominic Glass has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2022 semester at the University of Dubuque, in Iowa.

Glass is a 2022 graduate of Plainfield North High School and is a college student at the University of Dubuque. He is majoring in Flight Operations (Commercial Flight) and minoring in Aviation Management.

Sara Sienkiewicz named to Central College dean's list

Sara Sienkiewicz, a Central College student from Plainfield, IL, Class of 2026, has been named to the dean's list for the Fall 2022 semester.

The honor is awarded to full-time students who achieve a 3.5 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale while taking 12 or more graded credit hours for the semester.

6,900-plus Huskers named to fall deans' list

More than 6,900 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students have been named to the Deans' List for the fall semester of the 2022-23 academic year.

Qualification for the Deans' List varies among the eight undergraduate colleges and the Explore Center. All qualifying grade-point averages are based on a four-point scale and a minimum number of graded semester hours. Students can be on the Deans' List for more than one college.
