Commercial Building Extensively Damaged In Fire: Plainfield FD
Firefighters responded around 4:40 a.m. Wednesday to the building in the 12500 block of Rhea Drive in unincorporated Plainfield.
PLAINFIELD, IL — A commercial building in unincorporated Plainfield sustained extensive fire and structural damage after a blaze broke out early Wednesday morning.
Firefighters responded around 4:40 a.m. Wednesday at the business in the 12500 block of Rhea Drive when they discovered heavy fire conditions in the south end of the building. Crews used an aggressive interior fire attack method to contain the flames to that portion of the building and a second-floor office space, officials said.
Plainfield Emergency Management Agency assisted on the scene with firefighter rehab.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Departments from across Will County assisted with fire extinguishing, including from Aurora, Troy, Romeoville, Naperville, Lockport, Bolingbrook and Oswego. Crews from Morris, Homer, Northwest Homer and Minooka fire departments helped cover the Plainfield station.
