D202 Elem. Students Win Big At Short Story Contest
Seven of the nine top prizes went to D202 kids.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Elementary school students from District 202 won seven of the nine top prizes in the Painfield Public Library's Short Story Competition, according to a press release. The annual competition, open to third, fourth and fifth grade students, features stories between 500 and 600 words.
Chicago author Chris Rylander judged the event, with 94 total submissions from District 202 and others in the area.

Third Grade
- 2nd – A Friend for Bubble, by Fiona Terry -- River View Elementary
- 3rd – The Present, by Marley Ingram - River View Elementary
Fourth Grade

- 1st – One Step At a Time, by Madison Caldwell – Ridge Elementary
- 2nd – Shannon’s Big Scary Moment, by Zaynah Khan – Eichelberger Elementary

Fifth Grade
- 1st – The Creature of the Night, by Harry Kidonakis – Lincoln Elementary
- 3rd – Honey, Where is My Arm? By Connor Orr – Liberty Elementary
Booklets with the winning submissions as well as the names of all the students who participated in this year’s competition are available at the Plainfield Public Library.
