Dance Around the World at Plainfield Central Show

Tickets are $4 and children 4 years old and younger are free.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield High School-Central Campus dance students will take the audience on a trip around the world in their annual dance show at 7 p.m. Friday, April 29 in the school auditorium, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive, Plainfield.

This special program is open to the entire community. Tickets are $4, and children 4 years old and younger are free. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.

The show will be dedicated to Principal Bob Smith who has been very supportive of the dance show for many years. Smith is retiring in June 2016. He also may appear in one of the show’s dances.

The “Dancing Around the World, One Step at a Time”-themed show will celebrate diversity and include dances from France, Italy, Ireland, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Africa, Scandinavia, the Middle East, and other parts of the United States.

The physical education department collaborated with other PHSCC departments for this year’s show.

The choir will sing the “National Anthem,” and the foreign language department will decorate the stage with flags from around the world. Interpreters and students also choreographed a sign language dance.
