Darrell Castleman responded with these kind words
Yesterday I was honored for dedicating the past 28 years of my life to coaching football to the youth here in Plainfield. I am so very humbled and honored to have been a part of the greatest youth program there is in this great town. I want to say a big "Thank you" to all who came out and all who have sent me messages. I know there were many who wanted to attend but were not able too, so a very big THANK YOU, I am deeply touched.
There are currently and have always been some very GREAT people involved in PJC, some of who I think deserve this tremendous honor way more than I do. PJC has always been a collective effort of many people to build grow and sustain such a great program for our youth here in Plainfield. I am very proud to have been a part of it for the past 28 years and the efforts of all who have served this great program, and I accept this prestigious award and honor on the behalf of all who contributed. PJC has been such a huge part of not only my life but the life of my entire family for as long as I can remember. Truthfully I cannot remember life before I coached football. What started out as a great weekly family function, turned into some of the greatest memories I will ever have, with building life long friendships along the way.
I have always loved this program, it's board members, families, players and most importantly my assistant coaches. It took many years to compile a group of great men that share my passion for teaching these young men, and it is because of the ability of these great men that the kids that played in our program through our team became such great football players but more importantly great men and citizens in their communities. Just to name a few of the great coaches that I have had the honor of coaching with are Kent Holmer, Anthony Horwath, Joe Castleman, Thor Michael Holmer, Wayne Ford, Bob Arya, Bill Warren, Jeff Mary Wulf Anderson, Phil Hollingsworth, Larry Jaros, Bruce Kurschner, Bob Howarth, Ed Vicich Jr., Michael D. Manson, Oscar Sitkowski, Dan Saxen and many others.
I am truly blessed and I am extremely honored. Thank you PJC for this tremendous honor and a special thank you to Scott and Maureen Kintz for taking the lead and making yesterday possible. You are two very special people!
