Dates Announced For Plainfield Farmer's Market 2022
Although organizers are still solidifying vendors for this summer's event, one new vendor this year will be someone who runs a flower farm.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Summer is not as far as it may seem, and activities are beginning to blossom in Plainfield. One thing to look forward to is the 15th annual Plainfield Farmer's Market, which will run from June 5 to Sept. 11.
Similar to years past, the market will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Sunday in the parking lot of the Plainfield Public Library, 15025 S. Illinois St.
Although organizers are still in the process of securing vendors, manager Susan Bostanche said the market will return as people know it. "Wonderful farmers and bakers" will make a comeback starting in a few months.

"Now that the COVID scare is winding down, people are getting out more," she said.
Bostanche said she plans to offer more fresh, ready-to-eat food at the market. One new vendor who is slated to sell goods at the farmer's market is a woman who runs a flower farm.

"I'm excited about that, that's kind of fun," she said.
In preparation for the return of the beloved event, Bostanche said she wants the community to remember the farmer's market was started as a way to bring people to historic downtown Plainfield. As such, she said she encourages people to walk around and explore before or after they pick up their fruits and veggies.
"There are wonderful stores and restaurants [downtown]," she said. "We have great butcher shops, sandwich shops, ice cream shops. ... That's kind of what we're all about."
Local businesses or farmers who are interested in becoming vendors at this summer's Plainfield Farmer's Market can contact Bostanche at 630-608-7344 and get paperwork started, she said.
