Diesel Spills Onto Route 30, Results In Hours-Long Road Closure: PD

Roads reopened following the cleanup of diesel fuel that leaked from a tractor-trailer onto Route 30, near Renwick Road, in Plainfield.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A tractor-trailer leaked diesel fuel onto Route 30 Thursday morning, resulting in the roadway's temporary closure, officials said.

Plainfield police and fire personnel responded at 6:11 a.m. to the oil spill in the area around Route 30 and Renwick Road, Commander Anthony Novak told Patch. The Plainfield Fire Protection District is the primary agency handling the incident.

Eastbound Route 30 between Renwick Road and Lily Cache Road was shut down to traffic until about 10:35 a.m. Members of the Plainfield Emergency Management Agency assisted with the road closure while the westbound lane remained open.
