Disney's The Lion King St. Mary Immaculate Style

Having been performed now for 20 years on Broadway and all around the world, Disney's The Lion King made its way to St. Mary Immaculate Parish School over Mother's Day weekend, where over 100 students helped bring this Circle of Life together, onstage and backstage. The rehearsal process began back in January, where students received their scripts and music, and began learning a different language and a variety of dances and authentic, tribal movements, immersing themselves into the African Pridelands and beyond. As the weeks and months progressed, beautiful costumes, scenery, props, large puppet-like animals, and so much more was introduced to continue telling the story in preparation for what was two nights of sold out performances. As the production came to a close, the students will remember forever the memories and laughter shared, the hard-fought choreography and staging rehearsals, but most importantly, the family atmosphere that was born from this experience. The production was directed by Mr. Christopher Hueg, with a support staff of Mrs. Lysa Heaton, Assistant Director, Mrs. Karen Klump, Producer and Vocal Director, and an enormous contingent of parent volunteers. Talk and anticipation is already brewing for the announcement and reveal of next year's musical.
