District 202 Hires Elementary Special Education Administrator

Roxanne Ross will oversee special education services for Eagle Pointe, Freedom, Lincoln and Walker's Grove elementary schools.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Veteran special education administrator Roxanne Ross will serve as District 202’s new elementary special education administrator next school year.

The District 202 Board of Education approved Ross at its June 27, 2016 regular meeting. She will replace Christy Ernst, who is retiring this month.

Ross has served since 2012 as the principal for the Proviso Area for Exceptional Children (PAEC) special education cooperative in Maywood, Illinois.

She served from 2007-2012 as the PAEC’s assistant principal, and as a school social worker form 2002-2007 in Bellwood District #88.

Ross will oversee special education services for Eagle Pointe, Freedom, Lincoln and Walker’s Grove elementary schools.

“Roxanne has a strong knowledge of special education,” said Mina Griffith, assistant superintendent for student services.

“We were especially impressed with her ability to support students with special needs and their families,” Griffith said. “We are excited to add her to our team.”
