District 202 Preschool Lottery Open For 2021-22 School Year

Registration for programming at four district locations in Plainfield opened on Thursday and runs through April 29. The lottery is May 1.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The lottery for District 2020’s 2021-22 preschool lottery for programming at four district schools opened on Thursday and will run for the next two weeks for parents wishing to apply for various programs for their students.

Tuition-based preschool programs for the upcoming school year will be held at Bonnie McBeth Learning Center, Freedom Elementary, Liberty Elementary and Wallin Oaks Elementary. The district will again be using an online application in this year’s lottery and parents must pay a $100 deposit by May 28 to secure their spot, the district announced in a news release.

Registration for the lottery is found under the "announcements" section of the Wallin Oaks website and at the District 202 homepage.

This year’s lottery will be held on May 3 and parents will receive notification from the district by May 5 with news of whether their student gained one of the lottery spots or was placed on a waiting list. Registration of students accepted into district programs will take place later in May, the district said. Parents of students who are placed on the waiting list will receive word of any openings by June 1.

Parents may apply for two-, three- and five-day preschool programming at the Bonnie McBeth Learning Center and Wallin Oaks and for the five-day program at the remaining district school locations.

Enrollment in the general education program at Bonnie McBeth is opened to all district students between ages 3 and 5. The program will take place in an inclusive setting and students must turn 3 by Sept. 1 to be eligible.

Lottery application information is available at the Bonnie McBeth Learning Center, 15730 Howard Street, Plainfield as well as at the District 202 Administrative Center, 15732 Howard Street, Plainfield and at all District 202 elementary schools.
