District 202 Students Perform In NYC's Famed Carnegie Hall
The middle school students traveled to New York City as part of a special choir event.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A group of District 202 students performed at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York City last week. The 13 students from Aux Sable and Ira Jones middle schools traveled to the city as part of the 2018 Middle School Honors Performance Series Choir.
The students had to submit a resume and a singing sample. Once accepted, they had to memorize five songs.
The students traveled to New York to rehearse for three days with other choir members from around the world. The trip culminated with a performance in the famed Carnegie Hall.

O’Leary was chosen to sing a solo and Asiyanbi introduced a song during the performance, District 202 said.
Ira Jones Choir Director Karen Blair nominated the students and attended the event.
