District 202 Students Performed at Carnegie Hall

On June 23, 2018 thirteen district 202 students performed at Carnegie Hall as part of the 2018 Middle School Honors Performance Series Choir.
Participants names:
Former Aux Sable and future Plainfield South 9th grade student Mackenzie O’leary.
Former Ira Jones and future Plainfield North 9th grade students: Vivian Bohm, Justin Conrad, Jon Gilmore, Katie Holloway, Lauren Keith, Michael Petro, Emma Rodgers and Justin Watt.
Current Ira Jones students: Noelle Asiyanbi, Lily del Alcazar, Natalie Liapis and Malorie Wons.
The students were nominated and then had to apply, submit a resume, submit a recording sample and then be selected by educators who listened to their submissions. These students then had to
prepare and memorize five songs. The students then went to New York to practice with their director - Sally Albrecht. The students were in intense rehearsals for 3 days with all the other choir members practicing over 15 hours together.
Mackenzie O’leary was selected to be featured out of the 210 member choir, she was a student at Aux Sable Middle School but will be going to Plainfield South in the fall. Noelle Asiyanbi a student at Richard Ira Jones Middle school was also asked to introduce a song.
