Speeding Drunken Jeep Driver Had Stun Gun, Cannabis: Plainfield Police
The Romeoville woman was driving with an open container of alcohol, two THC vapes and a stun gun in an unlocked box, police said.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A Jeep driver pulled over for speeding Feb. 18 on Route 59 was discovered to be drunk and carrying a stun gun, Plainfield police said.
Just before 2 a.m., a patrol officer caught the silver Jeep driving 60 mph on northbound Route 59 near Renwick Road, a 40-mph zone. The driver, identified as the 26-year-old Brittney Mendez-Padilla, of Romeoville, "displayed several indicators of impairment," Administrative Sgt. Luke Ostreko told Patch.
An open container of alcohol was in the car, and Mendez-Padilla was also carrying a THC vape.

While searching the car, prior to it being towed, officers located another THC vape on the driver's seat as well as a stun gun in an unlocked box on the passenger seat.
Mendez-Padilla, of the 600 block of West Romeo Road, was taken to the Plainfield Police Department on the following charges and later released from custody. Her arrest was included in Monday's police blotter.
