Dutch Bros To Open Coffee Shop In Plainfield, Village Board Votes

The drive-thru-only coffee shop is bringing its popular concept to Plainfield.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Dutch Bros Coffee is bringing its popular drive-thru-only concept to Plainfield, village trustees voted.

Dutch Bros will open a 1,000-square-foot coffee shop at the southwest corner of Spangler Road and Route 30, adjacent to Encore Car Wash. A drive-thru operation was previously approved for the site as it was created as part of the car wash development. It's already fitted with shared right-in, right-out lanes, a drive aisle and a stormwater detention pond.

The Plainfield Village Board unanimously approved the site plan at Monday night's regular meeting.

The coffee shop will feature two drive-thru lanes and 21 striped parking spaces. Visitors won't order on screens; instead, employees will come up to cars to take orders, akin to Portillo's.

The developer, Quattro Development, expects to break ground on the building in July or August, a representative said at Monday's meeting. Construction will likely take about 20-22 weeks, with the shop opening before winter.
