C.W. Avery Family YMCA Dance Ensemble Auditions

The hunt is on for talented young dancers to join the C.W. Avery Family YMCA’s Dance Ensemble. The Y Dance Ensemble will hold auditions from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, at the C.W. Avery Family YMCA, 15120 Wallin Drive. Children entering grades 1-8 will audition from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and students entering high school will audition from 1-2 p.m.

Open to energetic kids who love to dance and perform, the Dance Ensemble provides participants with a great opportunity to create new friendships and develop leadership skills in a nurturing environment. Originally formed in 2010, the Y Dance Ensemble provides area youth, ages 6 and up, with the opportunity to learn a variety of dance styles, including ballet, jazz, tap and lyrical. The dancers also study the Y’s core values of caring, honesty respect and responsibility through activities built into the program. Each year, the Ensemble dancers also complete a number of community service projects in the Plainfield community.
