Dirt Jam to Raise Money for Plainfield Bike Park

The Plainfield Park District and CAMBr West, the west chapter of Chicago Area Mountain Bikers, will hold the third annual Dirt Jam from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Plainfield Bike Park on the eastern edge of Van Horn Woods.

MTB and BMX riders in all age groups will compete for prizes, including bikes, frames, parts and other items. The event also includes food, music, entertainment, contests, raffles and giveaways.

Admission is $25 for CAMBr members, $30 for nonmembers and free for spectators. Riders who bring in more than $50 in donations receive free admission and a chance to win bikes and other items. Download a Dirt Jam pakcet at www.cambrwest.org.

Those who register online before the event will be given a T-shirt. Signed waivers and helmets are required.

Money raised by the event will go toward operational expenses and future improvements at the park.
