Edward Plainfield and the Foundation for Excellence proudly present the 3rd annual Big Cat Pride 5k fundraiser on June 12. All proceeds for this race are given right back into the classrooms of Plainfield School District 202. For Over 25 years, the Foundation of Excellence has been helping and supporting teachers and students of District 202. Your participation in this years race will help to continue the goals of the Foundation.
Settlers' Park is once again the home of this district wide competitive race. Awards will be given in 14 age groups for men and women. As well as trophies for top male and female finishers.
The cost of the 5k is $20.00 per runner. The 1-mile walk is only $10.00. You can find all registration information at www.d202foundation.org.
Cost for day of registration is $25.00 for the 5k. Want to save a little? Sign up a team of four for $65.00. That's a savings of $15.00.

We encourage all participants to show their House pride by wearing the color of their District 202 house. Central Green, South Blue, North Red or East Orange. Let everyone know where your from and show your school pride. If you don't have any District 202 high school items in your wardrobe, get there early for your chance to win some fashionable door prizes.
Check in and day of registration for the 5k begin at 7:30am and will close at 8:45am to allow Race Time enough time to add day of registrations into the timing system.

Parking is limited by Settlers' Park. There is no street parking as our runners will have the safety of closed streets. There is overflow parking at Ira Jones Middle School and the parking lot at the YMCA. There is no shuttle service this year. So please, plan your arrival with enough time to make it over to the park by 8:45.
The District 202 Mascot Race is once again entertaining the crowd. Wiley the Wildcat, Boomer the Tiger, The Plainfield South Cougar and the North White Tiger are trimming putting on the running shoes and taking the course as our Mascot Race will be a showdown for our lovable fur-balls. Last year the Wiley clawed his way past by a tail over the South Cougar. Come cheer on your favorite mascot.
Also, don't forget to bring out your little competitors. The Lil' Cat Scamper (Kids Race) is only $5. All of our Lil' Cat participants will receive an award. Our top three girls and top three boys will receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies as well. All elementary students K - 5th can participate. The start of the race will follow the conclusion of the 5k. Registration for the Li'l Cat will close at 9:15AM.
