Northwest Community Park is located on 127th St. just west of Rt. 30. The clinic, for ages 8-14, is designed to introduce the sport to new players and parents. All equipment will be provided by New Wave Lacrosse. Participants must be pre-registered using program #43214A1.
Interested players will be able to register for the park district’s Fall Lacrosse League (program #43200A1). The league will run Sept. 14 – Oct. 22 at Northwest Community Park. Practices will take place on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Games will be played on Saturdays between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Player fee is $150 for residents and $205 for non-residents. A practice/game jersey is included in the player fee. Rental equipment will be available through New Wave Lacrosse for an additional $50 and includes helmet, shoulder pads, gloves, elbow pads, and stick.
Groups will be divided by age and skill level. The league for ages 8-10 will be instructional in nature. The league for 11- and 12-year-olds will emphasize skills and mechanics as well as the competitive side of the game. The league for 13- and 14-year-olds will not only emphasize skills, mechanics and competition, but also strategy and more intricate aspects of the game.
