The Plainfield Park District will co-sponsor Jeric's Skate Contest (program #17420A1) on Saturday, Sept. 8. The competition will start at noon at Renwick Community Park, 24550 W. Renwick Road west of Route 59. Contestants will be split into five age divisions: Kindergarten – 2nd grade, 3rd-5th grades, 6th-8th grades, high school, and adults 18+. All participants are guaranteed one 1-minute qualifying run to show off their best tricks for the crowd and judges. Top scorers from the first run will skate a second and deciding final run. ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A HELMET TO PARTICIPATE! A DJ will play music throughout the day. The cost for pre-registered participants is $5. Pre-registered participants are asked to arrive early for check-in. Day-of-event registration is $10 and starts at 11 a.m. at the skate park.
