Expect To See Increased Police Patrol This April, Plainfield Cops Say
April is designated as Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and police will be stepping up enforcement to target illegal cell phone usage.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police are stepping up their efforts to target distracted driving in April, designated Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
Drivers should expect to see increased patrols and traffic safety enforcement zones where officers will enforce traffic laws on foot. People texting or using their phones while driving will be pulled over, officials said Monday.
"Remember, if you have a phone in one hand, you can expect a ticket in the other," police said in a news release.
